Job summary

Bio-Techne is seeking a Senior Buyer to lead complex purchasing activities and ensure uninterrupted supply of materials. This role requires analytical problem-solving, cross-functional collaboration, and mentoring of junior buyers.

Onsite position in San Jose, CA with regular responsibilities across departments, focusing on ISO-regulated environments and ERP/MRP systems. Competitive benefits start on day one.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, or related field.
• 5+ years in purchasing, procurement, supply chain, or manufacturing.
• Advanced experience with ERP or MRP systems.
• Experience in regulated environments (ISO 9001 / ISO 13485) required.

Responsibilities

• Lead procurement activities for complex or critical materials to ensure uninterrupted supply.
• Independently manage supplier performance, delivery issues, and inventory risks.
• Analyze supply, demand, and inventory trends to recommend corrective actions.
• Resolve a wide range of purchasing and supply issues using sound judgment and experience.
• Build cross-functional partnerships to align supply strategies and execution.
• Train and mentor lower-level Buyers on purchasing processes, tools, and best practices.
• Drive process improvements and contribute to purchasing and supply chain initiatives.

Pay Range:

$79,800.00 - $131,100.00

The Senior Buyer leads complex purchasing activities and independently manages supply continuity across critical materials and suppliers. This role resolves issues of diverse scope through analysis and creative problem-solving, exercises significant judgment, and provides guidance to lower-level Buyers. The Senior Buyer collaborates broadly across departments and typically receives minimal instruction on day-to-day responsibilities.

Job Responsibilities

Education and Experience

• Experience in regulated environments (ISO 9001 / ISO 13485)required

• Skills in troubleshooting complex supply issues and leading independent initiatives

Working Conditions:

• Onsite work in a standard business office and operations environment
• Minimal travel within North America.
• Ability to work hours that conform tocore departmentoperations (9am- 3 pm)

• Ability to sit, stand, and work at a computer for extended periods
