Job summary

Moog Inc. in Salt Lake City seeks a Senior Buyer to support the new Commercial Circuits organization, manage supplier relationships, and drive value through strategic sourcing.

The role requires a technical or business degree, 3+ years in electronics/PCBA procurement, and strong knowledge of FAR/DFARS. You will lead procurement activities, coordinate with Quality and Engineering, and ensure on-time delivery while maintaining high quality.

Responsibilities

  • Identify supply sources meeting Moog's requirements for best value, on-time delivery, and high quality.
  • Execute the procurement process, including sourcing, supplier selection, technical evaluation, cost/price analysis, and purchase order generation.
  • Develop and maintain deep knowledge of the supply base, current pricing, and market conditions.
  • Develop and negotiate long-term purchasing agreements/purchase orders dealing with moderately complex commodities.
  • Lead regular procurement status meetings with suppliers and coordinate with Quality and Supplier Development Engineering on issues.
  • Ensure PO documentation is accurate and compliant with FAR/contract law.

(Formal schedule is M-Th, 7:00am – 4:00pm, every other Fri 7:00am – 3:00pm)To be considered for this Senior Buyer role, here’s what you’ll need to bring with you:Bachelor's degree in a technical or business-related field.At least 3+ years’ experience working in an electronics/PCBA procurement environment.Ability to read, understand, and interpret drawings, specifications, and industry requirements.Knowledge of quality assurance procedures and inspection procedures.It would be great if you also had:Experience with electronic distribution and PCB suppliersKnowledge and experience with FAR and DFARS procurement regulations.Certification in Purchasing, Inventory Control, and/or Supply Chain Management.Production planning familiarity.As our Senior Buyer , you will add incredible value to the team by holding responsibility for:Identification of sources for supply that meet Moog’s requirements for best value, on-time delivery, and high quality.Execute the procurement process, which includes sourcing, supplier selection, technical evaluation, cost/price analysis, and purchase order generation, documentation and supplier communication and oversight.Developing/maintaining deep knowledge of the supply base, current pricing, and market conditions.Develop and negotiate long-term purchasing agreements/purchase orders dealing with moderately complex commodities.Develop strong working relationships and consistent communication channels with suppliers.Lead regular procurement status meetings with suppliers in support of two-way accountability.Monitor supplier performance and work with Quality and Supplier Development Engineering on issues.Resolve issues to ensure on time deliveries.
