Yoh Life Sciences seeks an experienced Senior Buyer for an on-site role in Rancho Cordova, CA. The contract position focuses on procurement efficiency, supplier negotiation, and cross-functional collaboration with an emphasis on cost savings.

You will oversee purchasing for supplies, equipment, and services with autonomy while mentoring junior buyers and ensuring compliance with AFC policies. The role offers a challenging environment with a strong emphasis on process improvement.

• Bachelor's degree in related field with 9–13 years of experience, or Master’s with 7–11 years, or equivalent.

Yoh Life Sciences is seeking an experienced Senior Buyer to join our client’s team in Rancho Cordova, CA. This is an excellent opportunity for a procurement professional to leverage their sourcing expertise, negotiation skills, and independent judgment in a role focused on driving purchasing efficiency and cost savings.

In this position, you will oversee moderately complex purchasing activities for supplies, equipment, and services, while building strong supplier relationships, negotiating favorable terms, and identifying opportunities to improve procurement processes. You’ll work with a high degree of autonomy, represent Purchasing on cross-functional projects, and provide guidance and mentorship to junior buyers.

Location: On-site in Rancho Cordova, CA
Pay: $51-58/hr
Type: Contract 3-6 months

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

• Lead procurement operations and sourcing activities that improve efficiency and deliver cost savings.


• Represent Purchasing on assigned cross-functional teams, including capital projects, Integrated Project Teams (IPTs), and software implementations.


• Identify opportunities to improve existing purchasing policies and procedures, and recommend practical ways to increase efficiency.


• Help develop procurement plans and recommend processes and methods for implementation.


• Negotiate vendor contracts and service agreements to maximize cost savings, and identify new suppliers and sourcing opportunities.


• Partner with management to review ongoing initiatives and recommend improvements where appropriate.


• Mentor and train staff, sharing procurement knowledge and supporting junior buyers.


• Ensure purchasing activities comply with AFC policies.


• Lead business reviews with key suppliers as needed.


• Support a safe, healthy, and environmentally responsible workplace by following all company SHE policies and procedures, participating in hazard identification and environmental risk reduction, and reporting incidents, nonconformities, and potential hazards to management.


• May perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• 9-13 years of related experience with a bachelor's degree, 7-11 years of related experience with a master's degree, or equivalent experience.

SKILLS YOU WILL BRING

• Strong negotiation skills for vendor contracts and services.


• Strong problem-solving skills to address purchasing challenges and identify process improvements.


• Ability to mentor junior buyers and share practical procurement expertise.
