Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent with 8+ years of related experience.
  • Strong communication skills with stakeholders at all levels.

  • Experience in material management/purchasing or procurement domain.

Responsibilities

This role will be part of Fluor’s Advanced Technology and Life Sciences business line.Execute purchasing activities for critical engineered equipment and major bulk materials in accordance with project requirements and material management plansPrepare bid packages, manage bidder communications and clarification meetings and administer quotation timelinesConduct commercial bid evaluations evaluating pricing, terms, delivery, compliance and risk against project baseline documentsIssue purchase orders and manage them through the full lifecycle, including change orders, price adjustments and supplier exceptionsEffectively negotiate and recommend resolution to terms and conditions exceptionsNegotiate and provide recommendations for final resolution to any claim related items regarding materialAnalyze and make independent recommendations regarding solutions to problems with varying complexity in accordance with organization and/or project objectives and guidelinesValidate supplier invoices and resolve discrepancies in a timely mannerCollaborate closely with Engineering, Construction, Logistics, and other project stakeholdersPlan and organize own work assignments, as well as carry out tasks from management staffOrganize and prioritize a variety of projects and multiple tasks in an effective and timely manner, set priorities, and meet deadlinesAdhere to and support Fluor’s Health, Safety & Environmental and Sustainability PoliciesMay need to travel to attend to business related mattersMeet expectations on attendance and punctualityOther duties as assignedBasic Job Requirements• Accredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in applicable field of study and eight (8) years of work-related experience or a combination of education and directly related experience equal to twelve (12) years if non-degreed; some locations may have additional or different qualifications in order to comply with local requirements• Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors• Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job• Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines• Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective mannerOther Job RequirementsPreferred Qualifications• Ability to communicate fluently in English (read, write, and speak)• Working toward applicable professional certification(s) or license(s)• Experience should be primarily in the area of material management• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills• Excellent computer literacy and skills• Excellent leadership and decision-making skillsWe are an equal opportunity employer.
