We’re looking for an experienced Senior Buyer to take ownership of purchasing, supplier relationships, inventory planning, and cost-saving initiatives. This is a hands‑on opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment, solving supply challenges, negotiating with vendors, and improving processes.

You’ll work closely with Supply Chain, Production, Operations, Quality, Demand Planning, Product Development, Finance, and other teams to ensure the materials needed for production are available on time and at the right cost.

What You'll Do
  • Manage daily purchasing activities, including placing and reconciling purchase orders and confirmations.

  • Review and maintain reorder points for inventory items.

  • Monitor inventory levels, lead times, safety stock, and potential material shortages.

  • Develop and maintain supplier scorecards and review supplier performance with vendors and internal teams.

  • Identify opportunities to improve supplier relationships and reduce purchasing costs.

  • Negotiate with suppliers regarding pricing, availability, delivery, and other purchasing needs.

  • Research and evaluate new suppliers and make recommendations.

  • Partner with Product Development on sourcing materials and identifying cost and process improvements.

  • Work with Production to ensure raw materials and other production‑critical materials are available when needed.

  • Address defective or unacceptable materials with Quality, suppliers, and internal teams and help determine corrective actions.

  • Identify and develop strategies for obsolete and slow‑moving inventory.

  • Develop purchasing KPIs and reporting to monitor departmental performance.

  • Gather and organize data from multiple reports for Supply Chain and Operations.

  • Resolve delivery, pricing, availability, and payment issues with internal departments and suppliers.

  • Communicate potential purchase order delays to affected teams.

  • Support Operations and Demand Planning as needed.

  • Cross‑train across multiple Supply Chain functions.

  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve purchasing processes and efficiency.

What We're Looking For
  • 5+ years of progressive purchasing, procurement, or strategic sourcing experience, preferably in manufacturing or a regulated industry.

  • Experience purchasing raw materials, packaging, ingredients, or other production‑critical materials.

  • Strong experience with supplier negotiations, purchase order management, inventory planning, and supplier performance.

  • Experience developing supplier scorecards, purchasing KPIs, and cost‑saving initiatives.

  • Understanding of reorder points, safety stock, lead times, obsolete inventory, and material shortage prevention.

  • Experience partnering with Production, Operations, Quality, Demand Planning, Product Development, Finance, and Accounts Payable.

  • Advanced Excel skills, including PivotTables and XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP.

  • Experience with ERP or MRP systems; NetSuite experience preferred.

  • Strong analytical, communication, organization, and problem‑solving skills.

  • Ability to prioritize and respond quickly to changing production and supply needs.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, or a related field preferred.

  • Experience in food, CPG, nutraceutical, pharmaceutical, or similar manufacturing environments strongly preferred.

  • Ability to travel up to 10%.

Why Join?

This is an opportunity to join a growing organization where you can have a direct impact on purchasing, supplier performance, inventory, and production. You’ll have the opportunity to help improve processes, build supplier relationships, and contribute to cost‑saving initiatives while working alongside a collaborative team.
