Job summary

ESPO Corporation in Oregon is seeking a Senior Buyer to own component purchasing and safeguard production lines. You will lead the APAC supplier base, negotiate with vendors in Korea and China, and work with Operations, Sales and Quality Assurance to keep our production running smoothly.

This role requires 5+ years in purchasing, strong ERP proficiency, and excellent English communication; Korean or Mandarin fluency is required. Hybrid on-site in Jefferson, OR and Lake Oswego, OR.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in purchasing, inventory management, or supply chain, ideally in manufacturing.
• Fluent in Korean or Mandarin for direct supplier communication.
• Strong ERP knowledge with purchasing and inventory modules.
• Advanced Excel and MS Office skills.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication.

Responsibilities

• Analyze ERP data to drive component purchasing decisions.

• Lead cycle counts and reconcile inventory records in ERP.
• Report on inventory and supplier performance metrics and drive improvements.
• Collaborate with GM and cross-functional teams on pricing and sourcing strategy.
• Maintain procurement records and vendor communications.
• Travel to vendor facilities for on-site or virtual audits <10% of time.

Job description

Location: Hybrid – On-site in Jefferson, OR (2 days/ week) and Lake Oswego, OR (3 days/ week)

Compensation: $85,000 – $100,000 base annually, plus bonus eligibility

Employment Type: Full Time | On-site

We are hiring a Senior Buyer to own purchasing of component supply base. You will be a key contributor to a tight-knit supply chain team of 3-4 members, reporting directly to the Director of Supply Chain Management and partnering closely with Operations, Sales, and Customer Assurance to keep our production lines running smoothly.

Because most of our component suppliers are based in Korea and China, fluency in Korean or Mandarin is required. You will be negotiating, building relationships, and resolving day-to-day issues directly with vendors in their language and across their time zones.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Analyze ERP system data to drive component purchasing decisions that meet cost, quality, and delivery targets
• Manage and grow relationship with our APAC supplier base, including occasional vendor audits scheduled around supplier availability
• Initiate and manage purchase orders – including multi-process orders – and coordinate inbound logistics
• Review exception reports regularly and adjust purchase orders based on shifts in customer demand and production schedules
• Develop and execute demand plans that maintain target inventory levels and minimize expedited freight costs
• Source and qualify alternate suppliers to strengthen cost position, quality, and overall supply chain resilience
• Lead inventory cycle counts, investigate variances, and reconcile inventory records in the ERP systems
• Report on inventory and supplier performance metrics, and identify process improvement opportunities
• Partner with the General Manager and cross-functional teams on pricing, delivery issues, and broader sourcing strategy
• Maintain accurate procurement records including purchase orders and vendor communications
• Travel to vendors facility to conduct on site/ virtual audits less than 10% of the time

Job Requirements

• 5+ years equivalent experience in purchasing, inventory management, supply chain, – ideally in a manufacturing environment
• Fluent in Korean/ Mandarin (written and verbal) for direct supplier communication
• Strong working knowledge of ERP systems, with demonstrated proficiency in purchasing and inventory modules
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Advanced Excel Skills; solid command of Microsoft Word and Outlook
• Proven negotiation and vendor management skills, including with international suppliers
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including with international suppliers

• Comfortable working flexibly across time zones to align with APAC vendors
• Detailed knowledge of ERP systems and proficiency in purchasing and inventory management.
