Job summary

Manpower Group (USA) in Boulder, CO is seeking an experienced Senior Buyer to drive strategic sourcing, supplier relationships, and alignment with product development schedules. Responsibilities

  • Source and procure materials to support production and NPI programs
  • Identify, evaluate, and develop suppliers meeting quality, cost and delivery requirements
  • Request quotations and negotiate pricing, contracts, terms, and delivery schedules
  • Analyze supplier quotes and support optimal supplier selection decisions
  • Maintain purchasing data, lead times, pricing, and procurement parameters in ERP systems
  • Issue purchase orders and manage open orders for on-time delivery
  • Monitor supplier performance and address shortages or delays
  • Track shipments and PO status; liaison between internal teams and suppliers on technical/quality issues
  • Manage inventory levels for assigned commodities and product lines
  • Coordinate return of non-conforming materials to suppliers
  • Support purchasing process development for new product introductions
  • Act as SME during ERP and SAP transition activities
  • Assist with buyer/planner responsibilities during launches
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives

We're looking for a strategic procurement professional who enjoys building supplier relationships, supporting new product introductions, and driving supply chain performance.

This role plays a critical part in ensuring materials, components, and suppliers are aligned with product development schedules, production requirements, cost targets, and quality expectations. You'll work closely with Engineering, Operations, Quality, and Project Management teams to support both existing products and new program launches.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Monitor supplier performance and proactively address shortages, delays, and availability concerns
  • Track shipments and maintain purchase order status information
  • Serve as the primary liaison between internal teams and suppliers regarding technical, quality, and delivery issues
  • Manage inventory levels for assigned commodities and product lines
  • Coordinate the return of non-conforming materials to suppliers
  • Support purchasing process development for new product introductions
  • Act as a subject matter expert during ERP and SAP transition activities
  • Assist with buyer/planner responsibilities as needed during program launches
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and special projects
What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, Finance, Operations, or related field preferred
  • 5+ years of purchasing, procurement, or supply chain experience
  • Strong sourcing, supplier management, and contract negotiation experience
  • Experience working within MRP and ERP systems
  • Understanding of inventory planning, purchasing, and manufacturing operations
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills with strong Excel proficiency
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to collaborate across departments and diverse teams
  • Ability to travel up to 10%
