Job summary

DC Department of Human Services (DHS), Office of Information Systems, is seeking a Senior Business Systems Analyst for an on-site role in Washington, DC. You will capture and trace requirements, analyze workflows, and produce system design documentation to support an enterprise human-services case-management platform.

Responsibilities include presenting solutions to customers and collaborating with developers and QA to ensure alignment with business needs, with a focus on Agile/SCRUM delivery

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field.
• 11–15 years of experience as a Business Analyst or Business Data Analyst.
• Experience in requirements gathering, documentation, use cases, and traceability.
• Hands-on business process analysis, redesign, workflows, and complex logic.
• SDLC experience with Agile and SCRUM methodologies.
• Strong analytical, writing, communication, and presentation skills.

Job description

The DC Department of Human Services (DHS), Office of Information Systems, is hiring a Senior Business Systems Analyst for its Application Software Development team (100% onsite, Washington DC): requirements capture and traceability, workflow and system analysis, software documentation (RTM, user guides, SOPs, Visio diagrams), and Agile/SCRUM delivery with developers and QA on a human-services case-management platform.

What you’ll do

• Capture, verify, and manage requirements and requirements traceability in support of product development, test, and delivery
• Develop requirements, workflow, and system analysis; work with business stakeholders to develop software requirements and specifications
• Analyze, design, and evaluate computer systems to satisfy business requirements; establish functional, non-functional, and performance specifications
• Develop and update software documentation, user guides, Design Document / RTM drafts, release notes, SOPs, and process/system diagrams (Visio)
• Conduct business and technical presentations for the customer and provide innovative solutions to complex technical problems
• Collaborate with developers and QA to ensure business and system requirements are met and to enhance functionality

What you need

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field (or equivalent experience)
• 11 to 15 years of experience as a Business Analyst / Business Data Analyst
• Requirements gathering, documentation, use case and scenario capture, and traceability
• Hands-on business process analysis, redesign, workflows, and complex logic
• Software Development Lifecycle experience with Agile and SCRUM methodologies
• Strong analytical, writing, communication, and presentation skills; able to work cross-functionally with senior management
