Job summary

Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey seeks an experienced Business Systems Analyst to independently analyze business needs and translate them into technical requirements. You will lead cross-functional teams to align solutions with business goals across complex programs like BCMS, NPR, ITS, and related Horizon initiatives.

Ideal candidates bring 8+ years in IT within health insurance, strong SDLC knowledge, and proven leadership in production support and requirements management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required or 12 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree.
• At least 8+ years of IT work experience in health insurance.
• Demonstrated experience leading major company initiatives and leadership experience.
• Expertise in production support activities including issue resolution, monitoring, and incident management.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary Business Systems Analyst for Horizon initiatives and related programs.
• Lead and own analysis of complex issues and coordinate documentation of business needs.
• Translate requirements into designs, user stories, and BRDs/CSR reviews with enterprise standards.
• Provide SME guidance on systems and technologies and best practices for delivering solutions.
• Develop traceability from requirements through testing, implementation, and post-production validation.
• Mentor junior analysts and support cross-functional teams across Claims, Operations, IT, and vendors.
