Position Summary
The Sr. Business Systems Analyst is an internal functional consultant responsible for supporting, improving, and expanding Homewerks’ business application environment. While the role has primary responsibility across Infor M3, Infor OS, Infor Data Lake, WMS, TMS, EDI, demand planning, supply planning, freight auditing, data maintenance tools, reporting, and related integrations, it also requires the flexibility and curiosity to learn new systems, technologies, and business processes as Homewerks’ needs evolve. This role owns functional support, configuration, testing, documentation, and enhancement delivery across the application landscape.
This individual will serve as a go-to resource for business users, help translate business needs into standard system processes, and support future implementations as Homewerks adds locations, business units, or acquired operations. The role is also expected to maintain internal knowledge base articles in the ticketing system so support knowledge, process decisions, issue resolutions, system changes, and recurring procedures are documented and reusable.
This role is based in Lake Bluff, IL and is expected to start fully in office. As the individual becomes established in the role and business needs allow, there may be an opportunity to move to a hybrid schedule of three days in office and two days remote.
Primary Responsibilities
- Provide primary functional support and issue resolution for Homewerks business applications, including Infor M3, Infor OS, Infor Data Lake, Infor WMS, EDI, demand planning, supply planning, freight auditing, and data maintenance tools.
- Build and maintain internal knowledge base articles within the ticketing system for each major business application, documenting standard processes, issue resolutions, system changes, customizations, and recurring support procedures.
- Work closely with the Customer Solutions team to resolve functional issues, support customer-facing order processes, and identify recurring pain points that require system or process improvement.
- Coordinate, plan, test, and perform software upgrades to ecosystem as needed.
- Support and maintain integrations between Infor M3 and related applications.
- Troubleshoot failed transactions, data issues, and integration errors across Infor M3 and connected business systems.
- Acts on daily monitoring reports to correct failed transactions.
- Investigate and resolve issues between Infor M3 and externally received data, including customer, vendor, item, order, forecast, shipment, and transaction data.
- Identify and implement methods of systems sustainability.
- Maintain custom apps.
- Manage the administration of Infor systems security permissions.
- Managing user accounts for different applications and systems.
- Routinely deactivating accounts that are no longer in use.
- Comparing total accounts to contracted license agreements.
- Support and enforce Homewerks’ change management process, including intake, prioritization, testing, approval, communication, and post-release validation.
- Lead enhancement, implementation, and rollout projects that improve business operations and support future growth.
- Perform fit/gap analysis, gather requirements, and recommend standard system processes whenever possible.
- Collaborate with business users, IT, and external partners to identify practical improvements that reduce manual work, improve accuracy, and support scale.
- Partner with Customer Solutions on enhancements that improve customer service, strengthen internal processes, and reduce manual clicks, rework, or unnecessary steps.
- Configure and validate business application changes in partnership with business process owners.
- Create project plans, test plans, UAT scripts, cutover plans, and support plans for larger enhancements and implementations.
- Ensure new functionality fits the overall Homewerks application design and supports consistent business processes across locations.
- Configure and support personalization within Infor M3 and Infor OS where appropriate.
- Develop, maintain, and improve Infor OS workspaces, widgets, and related user experiences.
- Support custom apps, workflows, widgets, labels, and integrations where they improve the business process.
Additional Responsibilities
- Provide functional support for EDI processes and partner onboarding.
- Serve as a bridge between Customer Solutions and the EDI Coordinator to support order flow, EDI exceptions, customer requirements, partner setup, testing, and issue resolution.
- Work closely with the EDI Coordinator and business users to support trading partner setup, testing, and ongoing issue resolution.
- Understand EDI configuration and serve as a functional backup for EDI support when needed.
- Complete and sign off on functional testing for new partners
- Determines quality of inbound and outbound EDI data and suggests improvements to increase data accuracy.
- Support EDI exception processes, special orders, vendor-prepared cross dock, and process deviations that impact transactions.
- First Point of escalation for EDI issues internally and externally.
Primary point of contact and lead for external business application consultants.
- Determination of when application issues need to be raised with the consulting team when capacity or capabilities do not exist internally.
- Leads cadence status meetings with external partners for issues and enhancements.
- First point of escalation for any disputes, resolves issues at lowest level of intervention needed.
- Understands business priorities and communicates priorities to external consultants.
- Verifies and determines quality of work being performed by external partners through functional testing.
Supports the Master Data Mass Maintenance Processes and Data Governance efforts
- Identifies data gaps and provides steps to close the gap
- Suggests relevant APIs that can be used given a business case
- Serves as a backup for data updates, comfortable working with APIs
Lead functional onboarding of new locations, business units, or acquisitions into the Homewerks application template, including Infor M3, WMS, EDI, reporting, and related integrations.
- Translate business requirements into standard application processes and lead functional conversion planning.
- Perform fit/gap analysis against current and legacy application processes.
- Own functional testing, user acceptance testing, validation, and go-live readiness for new development or implementation work.
- Collaborate with IT, data, and vendor teams to integrate data into Infor M3, WMS, reporting, and analytics platforms.
Supports Homewerks overall Reporting build out and maintenance effort.
- Provides functional expertise and guidance, helps to determine if a report is needed or if requirements can be fulfilled through system functionality.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university in Computer Science, Information Technology or related area of study, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of experience in business applications, ERP functional support, implementation, or business systems analysis.
- Prior experience in import, distribution, manufacturing, warehouse, or supply chain environments preferred.
- Experience with Infor M3 strongly preferred; experience with Infor OS, Infor Data Lake, Infor WMS, and EDI a plus.
