Job summary

Pilot is creating a first-of-its-kind hybrid software/service to modernize the financial back office for startups and SMBs. The Customer Operations team partners with leadership to forecast and optimize work, with a focus on automation, AI-assisted processes, and real-time performance insights.

The role reports to the Head of Business Operations and sits in a hybrid office environment in San Francisco or Nashville.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years in business operations, analytics, or finance with hands-on system ownership.
• Expert-level Excel/Sheets with automation scripting and modeling.
• Proficiency in SQL and analytics tools (e.g., Looker).
• Ability to leverage AI tools for process automation and insights.
• Detail-oriented with strong systems thinking and communication.

Responsibilities

• Work Orchestration: own systems that plan and allocate work as volume and capacity change.
• KPI Reporting: build real-time leadership dashboards and anomaly detection.
• Resource Forecasting: develop forecasting models for staffing and capacity needs.
• Billing Operations: ensure sheet accuracy and QA at scale.
• Automation & AI Adoption: design and deploy AI-driven automations using scripting and SQL.
• Process Optimization: drive end-to-end improvements and change management.
