Senior Business Intelligence Engineer, WordPress VIP
We’re Automattic, the company behind WordPress.com, Jetpack, and WooCommerce. We're looking for a Senior Business Intelligence Engineer to join our analytics team.
As a Senior Business Intelligence Engineer on the WordPress VIP team, you will:
- Collaborate with senior leaders and teams across Marketing, Sales, Product, Customer Support, and Finance.
- Design database models and develop ETL pipelines using tools like Airflow to integrate data from sources such as Hubspot, Salesforce, Pendo, Gainsight, Google Sheets, and our proprietary platform, making data accessible via SQL databases and Looker.
- Create dashboards and reports in Looker to analyze enterprise data, including customer usage, churn, revenue metrics, and sales funnels.
- Perform ad hoc analyses on financial metrics, sales and marketing activities, and customer behavior.
- Build strong relationships across teams to identify analytics needs and opportunities for business growth.
- Improve data quality by auditing sources, documenting issues, and collaborating on resolutions to establish a reliable 'source of truth.'
- Provide strategic insights and generate reports on customer behavior to support marketing strategies.
- Monitor and optimize marketing campaign performance, ROI, customer acquisition, and engagement metrics.
We’d love to hear from you if:
- You have experience developing and optimizing ETL workflows with tools like Airflow, Python, SQL, Spark.
- You are proficient in SQL, including window functions and CTEs.
- You have designed interactive BI dashboards that enable data-driven decision-making.
- You have experience with sales and marketing tools like Salesforce, Hubspot, and Bizible.
- You have worked with Hadoop ecosystems such as Impala, Hive, Spark, or cloud data warehouses like Snowflake or Redshift.
- You are passionate about business intelligence solutions and adaptable to different platforms.
- You excel at collaborating with diverse teams, including executives and developers.
- You prioritize user experience in dashboards and reports, highlighting trends and anomalies effectively.
- You understand SaaS metrics and have experience delivering analytics solutions across teams.
- You possess excellent communication skills in English, capable of conveying technical data to non-technical partners.
Note: We are prioritizing candidates in North American time zones. Salary range: $100,000-$180,000 USD. Compensation reflects potential contribution and impact.
