Job summary

Bloomberg Industry Group is seeking a Senior Data Analytics Engineer to partner with senior stakeholders and design analytics solutions. You will lead data modeling, ETL pipelines, and data quality initiatives, building automated processes and scalable data fabrics to support decision making across the organization.

In this role you will translate complex data into clear insights, collaborate with technology teams, and present results with modern visuals using Power BI or Tableau.

Qualifications

• 6+ years hands-on development experience with SQL and ETL tools.
• Advanced SQL capabilities; experience with very large data volumes is a plus.
• Strong data warehousing, ETL processing and dimensional modeling knowledge.
• Proficiency in Python.
• Experience with reporting tools such as QlikSense, Tableau, or Power BI is a plus.
• Bachelor’s degree in a financial or technical field, or equivalent work experience; Master’s preferred.

What you will do:

• Work with senior business stakeholders to break down business problems and design analytics solutions.

• Refine and enhance reporting data models.

• Act as a champion for data quality by proactively identifying data quality issues and coordinating with system owners to resolve issues quickly.

• Build relationships with senior business leaders to gather requirements and evangelize data analytics best practices.

• Present information accurately and concisely in charts, tables, maps, and other appropriate graphical formats with a clean and modern design aesthetic.

• Collaborate with and influence technology teams to implement new analytical solutions and models.

• Interpret and translate data into accurate, concise, and meaningful business insights.

You need to have:

• 6+ years of hands‑on development experience with SQL and an ETL tool. Alteryx is preferred, but any similar tool can be considered.
• Advanced SQL capabilities are required. Knowledge of database design techniques and experience working with extremely large data volumes is a plus.
• Strong understanding of data warehousing methodologies, ETL processing and dimensional data modeling.
• Programming experience in Python.
• Knowledge of reporting tools such as QlikSense, Tableau, or Power BI is a nice to have.
• Bachelor’s degree in a financial or technical field, or equivalent work experience. Master’s degree is a plus.
