Job purpose

As a Business Development Rep, you will be a key member of Symend's go-to-market (GTM) team, focused on researching, profiling and contacting potential customers and leads across a variety of industries. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to begin their career in B2B software Sales or Marketing, who has a passion for selling and communicating with customers and prospects.

Duties and responsibilities:

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Your primary objective is to set up introductory meetings via inbound and outbound prospecting with companies:
    • Account Research - Account Info, Contact Info, etc...
    • Prospecting and qualifying leads through outreaches (email, LinkedIn, cold-calls)
    • Being the first point of contact to educate leads on our offering and differentiator to help generate interest
    • Anticipating needs and concerns of potential clients and maintaining a knowledge of problems and issues that they are facing in their work
    • Scheduling meetings and follow-ups for our Account Executives and the prospective clients
  • Reporting on business development activities in our platforms
  • Representing Symend at trade shows and events
  • Other sales and business development type activities as assigned

Qualifications, Abilities, and Skills Required:

Education:

  • Degree or diploma in any field

Experience:

  • 1-3 years' experience as a BDR/SDR, Inside Sales Rep or SMB/Commercial AE
  • Previous experience in customer-facing roles in retail or other consumer industries such as banking, fitness centres or healthcare

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong and professional communication skills -- written, verbal, presentation
  • Experience articulating value propositions via phone and email
  • Coachable
  • Relentless
  • Can think on your feet
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced environment, within a KPI and goal-oriented team
  • Interest in a career in sales or marketing

Working conditions:

  • Open office environment (unless working from home)
  • Cross border travel to tradeshows and events will be required
