We relentlessly pursue (and share) the truth, bringing together millions of data points from quantitative and qualitative sources, enhanced by responsible, human‑centered AI, to unlock potential across these communities and envision a world where doing the right thing is intuitive and informed.
The Role
We are looking for someone who has spent years doing the work—SEO, paid media, or both—and is ready to bring that expertise to the sales side. You don't need a polished sales pedigree; you need technical knowledge of SEO audits and paid search ROAS to ask the right questions. You’ll play a full‑cycle business development role on a small, high‑performing team that closes $110K+ annual engagements with mid‑market and enterprise clients.
Role Highlights
- Responsible for a $2.5M revenue target from inbound leads and additional revenue from follow‑ups.
- Develop a personal pipeline through strategic outbound efforts, targeting new business opportunities with tools and data.
- Demonstrate expertise in inbound and outbound strategies to maintain a robust sales pipeline aligning with company growth targets.
- Own and manage all processes from lead qualification, needs + strategy consultation, through to client kick‑off.
- Create and present comprehensive SEO, PPC, and Analytics strategies to prospective clients including C‑level executives.
- Consult with prospective clients on how SEO, PPC, and Analytics efforts dovetail with long‑term business strategy and goals, including occasional site visits.
- Conduct preliminary competitive SEO, PPC, and Analytics analyses for inbound leads, partnering with divisional teams.
- Prepare and deliver site‑specific proposals and negotiate contracts with guidance from the legal team when needed.
- Become a thought leader, providing content for the Seer blog, speaking at conferences, and attending networking events.
- Deliver a white glove approach to all clients, ensuring a smooth transition between Business Strategy and account teams at project kickoff.
- Leverage sales methodologies, with a preference for MEDDIC, to qualify leads, identify key decision‑makers, uncover pain points, and drive deals to successful closure.
- Represent Seer at conferences, in‑person client visits, and other events; 20‑25% travel required.
Essential Skills
- Extensive hands‑on experience in SEO, paid media, or both, able to ask deep technical questions before prospects finish speaking.
- Strong execution mindset: known for getting things done and mastering workflows without a playbook.
- Ability to read between the lines and recommend the right solution, even beyond what the client requests.
- Experience coordinating cross‑functional teams to bring the right people into a room at the right time.
- Comfort presenting strategy to senior stakeholders and managing pushback from high‑level decision‑makers.
- Proficiency with tools such as SEMrush, Screaming Frog, GA4, Ahrefs, and ability to perform quick audits.
- Diplomatic communication style, able to tell clients what isn’t working honestly and helpfully.
- Curiosity about AI and its potential impact on work and client value.
- Expectation management: internally and externally, no surprises, thorough documentation and clear communication throughout deals.
- Drive to build business development muscle, with a track record of winning pitches or growing client relationships.
- Willingness to learn, adapt, and invest in growth on the sales side while leveraging technical expertise from day one.
This might not be the right role for you if
- Time management, context‑switching, and juggling multiple projects is challenging.
- You do not want continued learning and innovation as an expectation.
- Change management is difficult and you struggle with adapting to new tools and processes.
- Integrating AI and automations into your day‑to‑day work isn’t a priority for you currently.
Compensation & Benefits
- Total compensation: $93,000 – $125,000 per year, with possible high‑performance bonus and annual evaluation.
- Benefit highlights and other compensatory details are provided to successful candidates.
