As a Senior Business Development Executive You Will

Lead the strategic development and implementation of sales plans that maximize opportunity, strengthen partnerships, and drive revenue growth. You’ll create meaningful, client‑centered engagements by leveraging insight into customer needs, competitive dynamics, and market trends—building a strong funnel while delivering against financial goals.

As the primary point of connection for Heller’s sales efforts, you’ll help shape go‑to‑market strategy, enable partners through training and collaboration, and ensure Heller’s design‑led story is consistently and effectively represented as part of Haworth. You’ll work cross‑functionally to balance brand integrity with commercial success, supporting growth that aligns with Haworth’s values around design, innovation, and purpose.

This is a high‑impact opportunity for a seasoned sales professional excited to help scale a globally respected design brand within a company dedicated to creating meaningful spaces that work better for people.

Essential Functions
  • Analyze market trends and competitive landscape: conduct in-depth market analysis, identifying trends, opportunities, and competitive threats.
  • Develop and deliver customized presentations: address specific client needs and challenges.
  • Develop and maintain key relationships: build and maintain strong relationships with key clients and dealers through face‑to‑face engagements, understanding their business needs and developing tailored solutions for winning business.
  • Lead sales strategy for market/territory: develop and implement sales strategies for assigned territory to ensure revenue targets are met or exceeded. Track activities using a customer relationship management (CRM) system.
  • Manage complex sales cycles: involve multiple stakeholders, decision‑makers, and influencers.
  • Must be able to perform all essential job functions with or without accommodation.
  • Negotiate and close large‑scale deals: depending on focus, may negotiate and close large‑scale, complex deals, involving significant revenue and strategic importance, or support the closing process.
  • May travel up to 80% to meet face‑to‑face with clients, influencers, and dealers.
  • Uses office automation, communication, software, and tools used in the Haworth office environment.
  • Performs other duties within scope as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Design, or similar field of study.
  • 5 years of experience in a consultative B2B, solution‑based sales role with a demonstrated track record of generating revenue and meeting sales targets (3 years related experience with Master’s Degree).
  • Ability to travel 80% of the time.
  • Demonstrated entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to grow existing relationships while opening new channels and expanding market presence.
  • Education equivalency: Associate’s Degree plus 2 years related experience OR 4 years related experience if no post‑secondary education.
  • Military equivalency at www.mynextmove.org/vets/find/military.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proximity to the New York metro area is preferred due to partner concentration and travel efficiency, but candidates outside the area are welcome to apply.
  • Experience in furniture, design‑driven products, or adjacent industries such as fashion or footwear.
  • Comfortable working in Excel and sales data—able to review year‑over‑year performance, identify trends, and proactively speak to insights.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and follow‑through.
  • Strong presentation and storytelling skills, with the ability to learn product history and communicate the design intent behind each piece.
  • Advanced proficiency in PowerPoint and Microsoft Office.
  • Comfortable learning and adapting to new technologies and systems, including CRM tools (Dynamics experience a plus).
