This role requires extensive collaboration with commercial teams, TS support functions, TotalEnergies affiliates, counterparties, and external financial partners across multiple jurisdictions and time zones. The position supports a wide range of bespoke, cross-border transactions, demanding strong commercial judgment, disciplined execution, and the ability to balance growth opportunities with capital deployment, credit, compliance, and reputational considerations. Success in this role requires a proactive, solution-oriented mindset and the ability to navigate complex transaction structures in a fast-paced trading environment. Travel throughout the Americas and to other global trading hubs may be required to support business development and transaction execution activities.

Activities

This role is responsible for originating, structuring, and executing financing solutions across the Americas that support and expand ATMI's physical and derivatives trading activities. The successful candidate will identify new business opportunities and develop long-term relationships with producers, refiners, marketers, and other key trading counterparties to drive commercial growth. The position also requires building and maintaining strong partnerships with banks, investment funds, insurers, and other capital providers to secure competitive financing and risk mitigation solutions. Working closely with trading desks and New Ventures teams, the individual will design and implement tailored financing, security, and credit structures that enhance commercial transactions while effectively managing risk. In addition, the role will support TotalEnergies affiliates and selected third-party partners with acquisition, divestment, development, and liquidity initiatives, leveraging trading expertise and market access to create value-added, commercially viable solutions. Success in this position requires strong commercial acumen, creativity, and the ability to navigate complex transactions in a dynamic international environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and originate structured financing opportunities across North America, Latin America, and the Caribbean, with a focus on crude oil, refined products, biofuels, and other energy commodities.

  • Lead transactions throughout the full lifecycle, from opportunity assessment and structuring through internal approvals, documentation, closing, and ongoing portfolio management.

  • Structure and execute tailored financing solutions, including prepayment, pre-export, borrowing base, inventory, receivables, acquisition, and other trade-related facilities.

  • Develop financial models and transaction economics, evaluating cash flows, collateral values, liquidity profiles, country risk, counterparty risk, and expected commercial value.

  • Coordinate cross-functional due diligence efforts across commercial, legal, credit, compliance, tax, treasury, accounting, operations, and technical teams, as required.

  • Negotiate term sheets and definitive agreements with counterparties, lenders, and investors in close collaboration with Legal and other key stakeholders.

  • Source and manage external financing and risk distribution solutions, leveraging relationships with banks, funds, insurers, and other credit enhancement providers.

  • Prepare and present investment recommendations and transaction materials for senior management and internal decision-making committees.

  • Partner closely with Houston-based trading and New Ventures teams, while coordinating with Structured Origination Finance and Trading & Shipping stakeholders across Geneva, Singapore, and Dubai.

  • Monitor portfolio performance and transaction integrity, proactively identifying emerging risks and leading mitigation, remediation, or restructuring efforts when necessary.

Objectives

  • Generate sustainable, profitable trading opportunities through structured origination, innovative financing solutions, and strong commercial partnerships.

  • Deploy capital strategically and responsibly, ensuring appropriate risk mitigation, disciplined portfolio management, and optimized risk-adjusted returns.

  • Foster strong collaboration across Strategy & Business Development, trading desks, and TotalEnergies affiliates to identify, develop, and capture new growth opportunities throughout the Americas.

  • Execute transactions in full compliance with HSE, Legal, Credit, Compliance, and internal governance standards, maintaining the highest levels of integrity, risk management, and operational excellence.

Candidate Profile

  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant professional experience in commodity finance, structured trade finance, corporate or investment banking, energy trading, project finance, or a related field.

  • Demonstrated success in originating, structuring, and executing complex financing transactions, with a strong preference for experience supporting energy and commodity-related businesses across the Americas.

  • Advanced financial modeling and analytical capabilities, including the ability to evaluate cash flow resilience, assess transaction risks, and develop innovative, bankable financing solutions that support commercial objectives.

  • Strong understanding of financing and risk mitigation structures, including secured lending, collateral arrangements, guarantees, and other core credit and security instruments.

  • Established relationships across the financial and commodity markets ecosystem, including banks, investment funds, insurers, advisors, and trading counterparties, are highly desirable.

  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence outcomes, build consensus, and lead multidisciplinary teams in a complex international environment.

  • Entrepreneurial, commercially minded, and solutions-driven, with the ability to manage multiple high-priority workstreams simultaneously while maintaining strong attention to detail and execution discipline.
