Job description

This role operates within a highly collaborative and international commercial environment, involving regular interaction with counterparties both locally and globally, as well as with TotalEnergies affiliates worldwide. The position requires the ability to thrive in a fast‑paced trading and shipping environment, where success depends on effectively working across diverse cultures and business practices. The successful candidate will regularly partner with multicultural teams in Houston and Geneva, while also engaging with colleagues in Singapore and Dubai, to exchange ideas, share expertise, and contribute to achieving collective business objectives and organizational success.

This role is responsible for expanding ATMI’s commercial footprint by identifying, developing, and executing new trading opportunities across physical commodities markets, with the potential to incorporate associated derivative structures where appropriate. The successful candidate will cultivate and strengthen relationships with a broad range of market participants, including refiners, retailers, producers, marketers, and financial institutions, to drive profitable business growth and originate new commercial opportunities.

A key focus of the position will be the evaluation and pursuit of strategic midstream asset and infrastructure transactions that enhance market access, create competitive advantages, and unlock incremental trading opportunities. The role will also work closely with TotalEnergies business units and affiliates, including Exploration & Production (E&P), Marketing & Services (M&S), and Refining & Chemicals (RC), to identify and capture third‑party volumes generated through existing partnerships and shared logistics networks.

Leveraging ATMI's established commercial relationships and market presence, the successful candidate will develop long‑term, structured transactions that create sustainable value for the organization. In addition, this individual will play an important role in enhancing ATMI's visibility and reputation within the industry by strengthening external partnerships, promoting the company's capabilities, and contributing to broader market awareness of ATMI and its activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and strengthen strategic partnerships with counterparties seeking to expand their trading activities or gain greater exposure to international markets, including industrial and commercial players with limited existing trading capabilities.
  • Originate and develop pre‑financed offtake opportunities for crude oil and refined products in close collaboration with the Structured Origination & Finance team, delivering tailored commercial and financing solutions.
  • Lead the evaluation, negotiation, and execution of investments, acquisitions, and long‑term lease agreements for midstream logistics assets, ensuring infrastructure capabilities align with and support the growth objectives of ATMI and TOTSA across the Americas.
  • Prepare and present comprehensive business cases and project dossiers for internal governance and approval processes, including submissions to key TotalEnergies decision‑making bodies such as CORISK and COMEX.
