Overview:

This position will be responsible for providing an advanced level of support to their unit (dept) working across several simultaneous projects/programs by developing new reports and dashboards, expanding on existing metrics, as well as presenting recommendations for data improvement. Represent department in cross functional, high visibility projects involving business partners outside of the department. Responsible for streamlining ongoing activities.

Overview:

This position will be responsible for providing an advanced level of support to their unit (dept) working across several simultaneous projects/programs by developing new reports and dashboards, expanding on existing metrics, as well as presenting recommendations for data improvement. Represent department in cross functional, high visibility projects involving business partners outside of the department. Responsible for streamlining ongoing activities.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Develop and produce mid-high complexity departmental reports and spreadsheets to include but not limited to project or product strategy analysis, historical reporting, work flow analysis, and financial analysis.
• Identify trends, emerging issues and engage relevant stakeholders to develop project plans, organize virtual and physical events, synthesize multiple points of view and communicate findings utilizing such tools as white papers, reports and other relevant formats.
• Perform complex analysis and judgment based work over multiple disciplines to support business decisions
• Go beyond basic reporting and delivery with the ability to analyze large amounts of data and information to provide meaningful insights and professionally communicate those insights to senior management.
• Drive continuous improvement of existing processes, develop new processes or enhance existing processes where required including maintenance plans, procedural documentation and custom tools for automation. Identify resources that can be utilized to support business operations or improve existing business processes. Provide input and recommendations to management.
• Builds forecasting, reporting and analysis solutions relating to the consumer product portfolio current and future performance.
• Provide clarity into forecast assumption rationale, integrate into expectations with intuitive impact to impacted portfolio metrics, and build ability to sensitize forecast drivers dynamically.
• Participate in the planning and implementation of new projects, programs, and plans to achieve short and long term business objectives; coordinate of the design and execution of various projects for the promotion and maintenance of the business.
• Take a lead role in supporting departmental audits including user recerts, compliance testing.
• Manage the planning, testing, and implementation of new projects, systems, products and regulatory changes impacting the unit (dept).
• Act as lead for departmental system support, coordinating with business partners, vendors and technology to address issues for the unit (dept).
• Adhere to applicable compliance/operational risk controls in accordance with Company or regulatory standards and policies.
• Promote an environment that supports belonging and reflects the M&T Bank brand.
• Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.
• Complete other related duties as assigned.
  
  

Experience and Education Required:

• Bachelors degree, or equivalent work experience
• 3 or more years related business line experience
  
  

Experience and Education Preferred:

• Expertise in distilling complex BAU processes into key components to enable automation, flexibility, and visualization.
• Proven experience with data visualization and reporting, including data sourcing, calculation logic automation, and forward-looking assumption inputs.
• Examples of leading with an innovation mindset to identify and improve key processes, deliver new tools, and supplement existing tools with the outcome of streamlining BAU processes for accuracy and repeatability.
• Technical acumen on Tableau, SQL, and Excel.
• M&T product and data domain specific expertise.
  
  

Working Model/Location:

• This is a hybrid position requiring 3 days in-office per week (Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays).
• Eligible candidates must live within commuting distance to 345 Main Street, Buffalo, NY 14203.
  
  

M&T Bank is committed to fair, competitive, and market-informed pay for our employees. The pay range for this position is $60,890.34 - $101,483.90 Annual (USD). The successful candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, and experience will inform their specific compensation.
