Job summary

Cayuse Civil Services, LLC is seeking a Business Analyst III for a remote role with occasional on-site work in Austin, TX. You will bridge stakeholders and software teams, driving ELT of requirements through the SDLC and ensuring fully realized outcomes.

Ideal candidates bring 8+ years in requirements, user stories, and wireframes, plus Jira and Modern Requirements experience. This is a salaried full-time role with client-validated contract terms and a defined end date.

Qualifications

• 8 years of experience with eliciting requirements.
• Working with software development life cycles (SDLCs).
• Business process re-engineering and software process flow improvement experience.
• Developing user stories and use cases aligned with business analysis best practices.
• Designing mockups and/or wireframes that adhere to UX best practices.
• Must be able to pass a background check.
• Minimum Skills: problem-solving, excellent communication (oral and written), respond to customers with urgency, proficiency in Microsoft and Adobe toolsets (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Acrobat).
• Preferred Qualifications: TEA/federal/state education agency experience; Jira experience; Modern Requirements experience.

Responsibilities

• Conducts comprehensive analysis of user needs, business processes, system limitations, and areas of inefficiency to identify opportunities for system automation or enhancement.
• Gathers requirements through JAD sessions, interviews, document reviews, surveys, use cases, competitive product analysis, and workflow evaluations.
• Converts elicited insights into clear documentation: business/functional requirements, use cases, user stories, SRS, wireframes, and mock-ups.
• Adheres to templates and uses precise language for clarity.
• Mentors peers by promoting best practices in business analysis.
• Leverages Jira and Modern Requirements to manage change control and SDLC activities.
