Position Summary

Client is seeking a Senior Business Analyst with IT Asset Management (ITAM) experience to support a client's software asset, licensing, and procurement efforts. The role focuses on the data side of ITAM: gathering and consolidating application and vendor data into a centralized inventory, tracking renewals, and documenting processes across the software asset lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with business leaders to identify key operational tools and business-critical applications.
• Analyze accounts payable, vendor contracts, and purchasing data to identify active software subscriptions and untracked spending.
• Partner with IT to identify active applications and shadow IT using SaaS management and endpoint discovery tools.
• Consolidate application data into a centralized inventory with standardized vendor names, product names, and categories.
• Track vendor renewals, contract terms, and service agreement expirations to support application transitions and migrations.
• Document processes, business requirements, workflows, and stakeholder responsibilities across the software asset lifecycle, from request and procurement through deployment, license management, renewal, and retirement, to support consistent execution and accurate records.
• Identify application overlap across business units and flag unsupported or insecure software for prioritized review.

Required Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, with recent experience in IT Asset Management or Software Asset Management
• Solid understanding of software assets, licensing models (per-user, device, core, subscription/SaaS), and renewal processes
• Experience analyzing accounts payable, purchasing, and vendor contract data
• Strong data gathering and analytical skills, including consolidating and normalizing data from multiple sources, with advanced Excel (pivot tables, lookups, data validation)
• Proven ability to document processes, business requirements, and workflows
• Comfortable leading cross-functional communication and coordinating with technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Clear written and verbal communication, including presenting findings and recommendations
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with ITAM/SAM tools such as ServiceNow SAM Pro, Flexera, Snow, or Ivanti
• Experience with SaaS management or endpoint discovery tools
• Experience with procurement platforms such as Coupa or SAP Ariba
• Exposure to major publisher licensing (Microsoft, Oracle, Adobe, Salesforce, IBM)
• Reporting and visualization experience with Power BI or Tableau; SQL a plus
• ITIL Foundation, CSAM, or CHAMP certification
