Job summary

VARITE INC seeks a Senior Business Analyst, Derivatives SME to support a global investment manager in Houston, TX and Atlanta, GA. This onsite role demands deep derivatives expertise and close collaboration with business, operations, technology, and external vendors.

The role focuses on lifecycle management, trade support, collateral, and settlements for complex derivatives, with a 6-month engagement and W2 pay of $85.00–$95.00/hr.

Qualifications

• 10-15+ years of experience in financial services.
• 5-7+ years of experience in derivatives and derivatives lifecycles concepts/ support.
• Strong understanding of transaction management, trade support, derivative lifecycle, collateral management, and margin processes.
• Ability to bridge business and technology teams and communicate effectively with senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Partner with business stakeholders and technology teams to translate requirements into effective support solutions.
• Support testing activities, including test-case development, UAT coordination, and issue resolution.
• Serve as primary SME for QIS Swaps and other complex derivative products across trade booking, lifecycle events, valuations, collateral, settlements, reconciliations, and operational support.
• Collaborate with Portfolio Managers, Trading, Operations, Technology, Fund Accounting, Custodians, Brokers, and external vendors to support growth and scalable processing of derivatives.
• Document and implement business requirements, operating model enhancements, and platform initiatives to support increasing QIS Swap volumes.

HERE’S WHAT YOU’LL DO

Overview

• We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Business Analyst (BA)/ Esoteric Derivative Lifecycle Specialist SME with deep expertise in derivatives to support critical business growth in QIS Swaps.
• This individual will partner with business, operations, technology, and external vendors support implementation activities and volume support.
• The role will serve as a subject matter expert for derivatives, helping ensure operational objectives are met and supported fully.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with business stakeholders and technology teams to ensure requirements are understood and translated into effective support solutions.
• Support testing activities, including test-case development, UAT coordination, and issue resolution.
• Serve as the primary SME for QIS Swaps and other complex/esoteric derivative products, providing end-to-end expertise across trade booking, lifecycle event management, valuations, collateral, settlements, reconciliations, and operational support.
• Partner with Portfolio Managers, Trading, Operations, Technology, Fund Accounting, Custodians, Brokers, and external vendors to support business growth, resolve operational issues, and ensure accurate and scalable processing of complex derivative transactions.
• Documentation, and implementation of business requirements, operating model enhancements, workflow improvements, and platform initiatives to support increasing QIS Swap volumes and evolving product capabilities.
• Act as an escalation point for risk-sensitive lifecycle events, trade exceptions, margin and collateral issues, valuation inquiries, and reporting impacts, while driving process controls, operational readiness, and continuous improvement across the derivatives support model.

Required Experience

• 10-15+ years of experience in financial services.
• 5-7+ years of experience in derivatives and derivatives lifecycles concepts/ support.
• Strong understanding of transaction management, trade support, derivative lifecycle, collateral management, and margin processes.
• Ability to bridge business and technology teams and communicate effectively with senior stakeholders.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and process improvement skills.

Systems & Tools

• Experience with one or more of the following platforms is preferred:
• Aladdin, Charles River, FCM Platforms, OTC industry tech, SSB ALPHA, MS Suite
