Job description

We are seeking a highly experienced Business Systems Analyst with a strong blend of business and technical expertise to help manage the design, implementation, and optimization of core investment systems. This role works closely with cross‑functional teams to support platforms including Order Management Systems (OMS), Execution Management Systems (EMS), Portfolio Management Systems (PMS), IBOR (Investment Book of Record), and data analytics environments.

The ideal candidate will bring deep knowledge of fixed income and OTC asset classes, along with strong hands‑on experience in data analytics, system integrations, and investment workflows across front, middle, and back office teams.

Key Responsibilities

Business Analysis & Stakeholder Collaboration

• Partner with business stakeholders, traders, operations, and risk teams to gather and translate business requirements into functional and technical specifications
• Facilitate workshops, process mapping sessions, and gap analyses across investment workflows
• Act as a liaison between business users and technology teams to ensure solutions align with shared objectives

Systems Design & Implementation

• Help manage the design, configuration, and implementation of OMS, EMS, PMS, and IBOR platforms
• Contribute to defining system architecture, data flows, and integration points across front‑to‑back office systems
• Support vendor selection processes, system upgrades, and platform migrations
• Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure system scalability, performance, and reliability

Integration & Data Management

• Help manage integrations between internal systems and external vendors (market data providers, custodians, brokers)
• Work with APIs, messaging protocols (e.g., FIX), and ETL pipelines to support seamless data exchange
• Attention to details and accuracy of work. Ensure data accuracy and consistency across trade lifecycle, positions, valuations, and risk data
• Collaborate on building and enhancing centralized data platforms or data warehouses

Data Analytics & Reporting

• Support delivery of analytics solutions for trading, portfolio performance, and risk monitoring
• Develop dashboards, reports, and data models using modern analytics tools
• Partner with data engineering teams to improve data pipelines and reporting capabilities
• Promote self‑service analytics and improved data accessibility for business users

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
• 5–10+ years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst within asset management, hedge funds, or financial services
• Experience supporting the design and implementation of OMS, EMS, PMS, or IBOR platforms
• Solid understanding of system integration concepts, data flows, and architecture
• Strong knowledge of fixed income instruments, including:
  • Government and corporate bonds
  • Structured products (MBS, ABS, CMOs)
• Experience with OTC derivatives, including:
  • Repo and securities lending
• Understanding of trade lifecycle, pricing, valuation, accruals, and risk metrics
• Familiarity with market conventions, day count, yield calculations, and curve construction

Technical & Data Skills (Highly Preferred)

• Advanced SQL expertise, including PL/SQL and T‑SQL for complex data analysis, stored procedures, and performance tuning
• Strong experience with data analytics platforms (e.g., Databricks, Spark‑based environments)
• Hands‑on experience with market data systems such as Bloomberg, S&P Global, or similar providers
• Proficiency in Python for data analysis, automation, and integration tasks
• Experience with VB / Excel automation (macros, VBA) to support operational efficiency and reporting
• Strong working knowledge of MS365 tools (Excel advanced features, Power BI, SharePoint, Teams, Power Automate)
• Experience with data modeling, ETL processes, and data warehousing architectures
• Familiarity with APIs, FIX protocol, and integration frameworks

Tools, Documentation & Testing

• Experience creating functional and technical design specifications (BRDs, FRDs, solution design documents)
• Strong experience with test planning and execution, including SIT, UAT coordination, and defect management
• Familiarity with test management and documentation tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence, Azure DevOps, ALM)
• Ability to produce clear, structured documentation for both business and technical audiences

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with investment platforms (OMS, EMS, Portfolio construction, IBOR, Data Analytics)
• Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Understanding of data governance and data quality frameworks
