Job summary

The Planet Group is seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst to support the development and optimization of back-office accounting applications. This role partners closely with product owners, stakeholders, and development teams to translate complex business needs into clear requirements, actionable user stories, and measurable outcomes.

You will elicit requirements, manage Agile backlogs, craft process flows, and drive data-driven improvements through analysis, UAT support, and metrics

Qualifications

• 5+ years of business analysis within SDLC.

• Proficient in SQL; investigates data discrepancies.

Position Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Elicit, analyze, and document business requirements, translating them into detailed user stories and acceptance criteria.
• Partner with product owners and cross-functional stakeholders to identify pain points, define solutions, and maintain a healthy product backlog.
• Create process flows, mockups, and supporting documentation as needed.
• Collaborate with development teams to ensure solutions align with business requirements.
• Support design, development, and QA activities by clarifying requirements and resolving questions.
• Facilitate UAT and serve as a key point of contact for stakeholders and end users during testing.
• Analyze complex data, identify discrepancies, and support process improvements.
• Track progress and contribute to metrics that measure team and project outcomes.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of business analysis experience within the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
• Strong experience gathering requirements, decomposing complex needs into incremental user stories, and managing Agile/Scrum backlogs.
• Proficiency in SQL, including writing queries to investigate data and identify discrepancies.
• Experience supporting data-intensive projects and working with AI-related initiatives.
• Experience creating process flows using Microsoft Visio.
• Knowledge of business process analysis, UAT, and software testing practices.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across technical and business teams.
• Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and proactive problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to simplify complex business concepts and anticipate potential risks or downstream impacts.
