Job summary

WSP is seeking an experienced Building Technology Systems - Senior Consultant to join our Northeast Region team in the New York area, with office locations in NY, NJ, PA, and MA. The role focuses on designing and coordinating structured cabling, electronic security, and audiovisual systems for a variety of projects.

You will collaborate with lead consultants through design, coordination, and construction administration, and assist with client engagements and business development as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Engineering Technology, IT, telecommunications, or related field or equivalent experience.
• 5–7+ years designing building technology systems in AEC/tech infrastructure environments.
• Ability to manage tasks independently on small to medium projects and support senior staff.

Responsibilities

• Develop and coordinate designs for Structured Cabling, Electronic Security, or Audiovisual systems.
• Coordinate with clients to gather and document system requirements.
• Create design narratives and construction documents (drawings, CSI specs).
• Lead or participate in project meetings with clients and design teams.
• Review submittals and RFIs using Procore, Newforma, and ACC platforms.
• Perform site surveys and prepare condition reports for progress and compliance.
• Coordinate integration of building technology with other systems.
• Provide guidance to entry-level professionals and support BD activities.
