Job summary

JLL is seeking a seasoned Operations and Maintenance lead for critical building systems in Des Moines, IA. You will manage an engineering team, oversee preventive and corrective maintenance, and ensure maximum infrastructure availability and client satisfaction.

You will supervise HVAC, electrical and fire safety systems, coordinate with contractors, and maintain regulatory compliance while fostering team growth and safety.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience with critical building systems including mechanical, electrical, fire safety, and building management systems.
• Strong background in raised floor critical operating environments and best practices.
• Proven leadership experience managing engineering teams and coordinating with contractors.
• Knowledge of preventative maintenance programs and work order management systems.
• Understanding of regulatory compliance for critical facilities.
• Ability to respond to emergencies with technical guidance; on-call responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead operations and maintenance on assigned shift, directing service requests with minimal disruption.
• Operate and monitor critical system equipment including HVAC, UPS, generators, chillers, and BMS.
• Provide technical training and support to shift engineers and maintenance technicians.
• Implement and oversee preventative maintenance programs, scheduling, and parts ordering.
• Process work orders for preventative and corrective maintenance; document materials.
• Respond to emergencies with real-time guidance and problem resolution.
• Conduct regular facility inspections and assess program effectiveness.
• Develop annual maintenance plans and capital improvement strategies.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and up-to-date building documentation.
