Job summary

BPR Consulting Group in San Joaquin, CA is seeking an experienced Building Official / Senior Building Inspector to join our team serving a key client in the area. The ideal candidate will have ICC Building Official certification or equivalent, advanced knowledge of California Building Codes, and at least five years of building department experience.

Responsibilities include plan review, field inspections, issuing Certificates of Occupancy, and maintaining client permitting databases.

Qualifications

• Five+ years as a building official or inspector.
• Knowledge and application of plan review and construction processes.
• Experience interpreting building codes.
• Advanced knowledge of California Building Codes.
• Good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Manages Building Department operations for an assigned client agency.
• Apply knowledge of building codes, policies, and procedures to day-to-day functions.
• Consults with engineers, architects, developers, contractors, and the public on construction and building code issues.
• Plan review of minor projects for residential and commercial building, alterations, remodels, and additions.
• Performs field inspections on all phases of residential and commercial construction.
• Issues Certificates of Occupancy for completed projects.
• Create and maintain reports, plan review files and inspection logs for all building projects.
• Maintain clients permitting database.
• Perform all work consistent with BPR’s and Clients policies and procedures.
• Provide all services in an efficient, proactive, and client focused manner.
