Job summary

The Salvation Army in Sarasota, FL is seeking a maintenance technician to perform repairs on structures and fixtures and to troubleshoot and service mechanical systems and vehicles. You will support preventative maintenance programs and operate company vehicles and forklifts as required.

Two years of vocational training and three years of related experience are preferred, with state driver's license and compliance with safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• Two years of coursework in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or construction trades.
• Three years of progressively responsible maintenance/repair experience in commercial buildings.
• Any equivalent combination of training and experience.

Responsibilities

• Repair building structures, walls, floors, ceilings, cabinets, and furniture as needed.
• Troubleshoot and repair minor mechanical systems and perform preventative maintenance on vehicles and equipment.
• Monitor preventive maintenance on mechanical, electrical, and appliance systems; inspect and maintain equipment and tools.
• Safely operate Salvation Army vehicles, forklifts and related equipment; complete training as required.
• Assist with janitorial/housekeeping tasks and ensure work complies with policies.
