Job summary

Polk County invites applications for a position as Building Inspector II or III, responsible for inspecting residential structures and reviewing plans for compliance with county building, mechanical, and zoning codes.

Minimum qualifications include high school diploma or GED; the candidate must hold Oregon certificates (OIC, CAS, CAX, CAP, SIA) at time of hire, with preference for additional certificates. A valid Oregon driver's license is required.

Qualifications

• Must possess Oregon certificates listed at time of hire.
• Preference given to those with additional State certificates (A Level Electrical Inspector, A level Mechanical Inspector, or A Level Plumbing Inspector).
• Must have the ability to obtain A Level Plans Examiner (PEA) Certification within 12 months of hire.
• Possession of valid Oregon driver's license at time of appointment.

Responsibilities
