Job summary

Lake County is seeking a Plans Examiner/Building Inspector within the Building Services department in Florida. The role involves leadership in enforcing building and related codes, inspecting new construction and alterations, maintaining records, issuing permits, and delivering professional customer service.

Preference is given to candidates with multiple state licenses. The position may require emergency response duties during declared emergencies and other assigned tasks.

Qualifications

• Requires associate degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management or a closely related field.
• Five years of related experience.
• Ability to obtain professional certifications and licenses within 120 days as required by state law for Provisional Plans Examiner and Building Inspector (for each trade assigned).
• Requires a valid Florida driver's license.

Requires a valid Florida driver's license.
