Job summary

Simpson Gumpertz & Heger (SGH) seeks a Senior Project Manager to lead major building envelope projects, manage staff and client relationships, and advance professional expertise through associations and committees.

The role emphasizes design oversight, investigations, remediation, and construction support while mentoring junior staff and coordinating with architects and contractors. Travel to job sites is required as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, or Architectural Engineering; Master’s preferred.
• 8+ years of architectural/engineering or construction management experience.
• Professional Engineer License (P.E.) required.
• Ability to travel to remote job sites and maintain acceptable MVR.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Strong computer graphic skills.
• Experience in curtain wall design, historic preservation, rope access, or public speaking a plus.
• Ability to work in a team environment and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Assisting in design, site investigations, and documentation of existing conditions.
• Investigation and remediation of building envelope malfunctions.
• Design and construction assistance to contractors and design consultation to architects.
• Design and review of all envelope components including walls, windows, roofs and plaza waterproofing.
• Field investigation and water leakage testing of roofing and waterproofing systems.
• Design of remedial repairs to existing building systems.
• Provides on-the-job training and mentoring to staff.
• Peer reviews of plans and specifications.
• Litigation support for projects.
• Assist with construction administration phase of projects.
• Prepare written reports and presentations documenting work and findings.
