Job summary

Bevara is seeking a Lead Building Engineer to supervise the day-to-day operation, maintenance, and repair of building systems in Phoenix, AZ. The role combines hands-on technical work with leadership of the engineering team, ensuring safety, efficiency, and compliance.

Reporting to the Regional Engineering Manager, you will mentor staff, manage capital projects, and coordinate with vendors while maintaining high standards of service and documentation across multi-site properties.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years in commercial building or facilities ops with supervisory experience.
• Strong leadership, mentoring, and ability to coach staff.
• Excellent communication and ability to document work clearly.

Responsibilities

• Lead preventative maintenance and repairs on building systems and equipment.
• Mentor and guide engineering staff; support staffing decisions.
• Oversee work orders; ensure timely, accurate completion.
• Manage building automation systems for energy efficiency and comfort.
• Troubleshoot electrical and plumbing components; perform repairs as needed.
• Conduct fire/life-safety inspections and ensure compliance.
• Oversee capital improvement and tenant enhancement projects.
