Job summary

Office of Public Response in Kenosha, Wisconsin seeks a supervisor for the Building Inspections and Code Compliance team. The role ensures safety, conformance, and compliance with applicable laws, codes, and regulations related to property maintenance, building, and construction.

Responsibilities include supervising Building Inspectors and Code Compliance Officers, interpreting city ordinances, and evaluating inspector performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field is required.
• Six years of customer service experience, with at least two in a supervisory capacity.
• At least three years of experience in property maintenance, code enforcement and/or building inspection.

Responsibilities

• Supervise Building Inspectors and Code Compliance Officers performing property, building, electrical, mechanical, plumbing and HVAC inspections.
• Interpret the General Code of Ordinances and evaluate the quality and quantity of inspectors' work.
• Exercise independent judgment to achieve program and departmental objectives and solve problems within area of responsibility.
• Defend actions of supervisees to citizens, Aldermen and management.
