Job summary

Dewberry seeks an experienced Building Automation Systems/Controls Engineer in Raleigh, NC to lead BAS projects for commercial, government, and federal clients across the Southeast. You will design control sequences, evaluate existing systems, and mentor junior staff while coordinating with MEPS teams and external partners.

You will oversee shop drawings, commissioning, and field investigations to ensure successful project delivery from concept through completion.

Qualifications

• Four-year degree in engineering-related field preferred; high school diploma required.
• 10+ years directly applicable BAS/HVAC/controls design experience.
• Experience with BAS manufacturers: JCI, Honeywell, Schneider Electric, Siemens, Distech, Niagara.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD/Revit preferred.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills and client interaction.
• Knowledge of IP networking as it relates to BAS

Responsibilities

• Develop project-specific control schematics, sequences of operation, and specs.
• Field evaluations of existing systems to identify upgrade opportunities.
• Project management including scoping, scheduling, and estimating costs.
• Provide controls technical leadership to junior staff.
• Review BAS/control designs and interface with contractors and clients.
• Coordinate with the Dewberry team and external stakeholders.
