Responsibilities

  • Support budget planning, preparation, monitoring, forecasting, and reporting activities.
  • Collect, review, and consolidate financial data and departmental budgets.
  • Prepare financial reports and presentations for management, highlighting performance, trends, variances, risks, and forecasts.
  • Perform financial analysis to identify discrepancies, cost-saving opportunities, and areas for improved efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain budgeting models, templates, financial tools, and supporting documentation.
  • Review budget modifications and assist in resolving budget-related issues.
  • Support compliance with financial policies, budgetary requirements, and applicable regulations.
  • Assist with long-term financial planning and other budget-related projects.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders on budgeting and financial matters.

Job description

The Budget Management Senior Associate supports the organization’s budgeting, financial planning, forecasting, and reporting processes. This role analyzes financial information, supports budget development and monitoring, and collaborates with internal teams and external stakeholders to promote accurate financial planning and effective resource management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support budget planning, preparation, monitoring, forecasting, and reporting activities.
  • Collect, review, and consolidate financial data and departmental budgets.
  • Prepare financial reports and presentations for management, highlighting performance, trends, variances, risks, and forecasts.
  • Perform financial analysis to identify discrepancies, cost-saving opportunities, and areas for improved efficiency.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position involves supervisory responsibilities, including providing guidance, reviewing work for accuracy and quality, and supporting the achievement of team objectives.

External Relationships

Frequent interaction with external advisors, government agencies, attorneys, consultants, and other stakeholders as needed to support budgeting, financial planning, and related initiatives.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • 2–5 years of experience in budgeting, financial planning, accounting, or a related financial role.
  • Master’s degree or professional certification such as CPA or CMA preferred.
  • Advanced Excel proficiency, including financial modeling, data analysis, pivot tables, and complex formulas.Strong budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and variance analysis skills.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, project management, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and handle confidential financial information.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential financial information appropriately.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish.
