Job summary

Salt Lake County seeks a seasoned budget professional to lead complex analyses, forecasting, and the budget development process. You will supervise staff, ensure data integrity, and support transparency in financial reporting.

Ideal candidates hold a related Bachelor's degree with 6+ years of experience in budgeting or financial analysis, including supervisory roles. The role requires strong communication and cross‑department collaboration in a county setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Mathematics, Economics, Business Administration, Public Administration or related field, plus six years of budgeting/financial analysis experience, with two in supervision.
• Master’s degree preferred in Accounting, Finance or Public Administration or related field.
• Background check required including RAP Back as part of county policy.

Responsibilities

• Supports and coordinates the annual county budget development process and timelines.
• Monitors budgets, revenues, expenditures and projections; identifies trends and risks.
• Develops complex financial analyses, forecasts and budget recommendations.
• Supervises staff including hiring, training, performance reviews and discipline.
