Job summary

Texas Education Agency (TEA) seeks an experienced senior budget and financial data analyst to troubleshoot and improve budget processes, administer financial systems, and develop reporting. The role collaborates across departments to drive agency-wide financial efficiency and supports CAPPS Financials and related platforms.

The position requires leadership in planning, analysis, and system improvements, with mentoring of colleagues and a focus on data integrity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university.
• At least four years of experience with financial technology applications supporting agency operations, budget development, analysis, and related processes including administering role-based security and configuring workflows in financial systems.
• Experience developing advanced queries and comprehensive financial reports with data validation to ensure accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Strategy & Planning: develop and implement strategic planning actions and guide the financial software roadmap across systems and state entities.
• Reporting & Analysis: create complex queries, produce comprehensive reports, and ensure data integrity.
• Training & System Upgrades: oversee staff training and provide guidance during deployments of financial system changes.
• System Administration: manage security, user access, and workflows while improving operations through analytics and mentoring.
