SUNY Oneonta seeks a Senior Financial Analyst to serve as a senior analytical resource within the Budget Office. The role supports financial operations, planning efforts, and process improvements through data-driven analysis and strategic decision support.

The analyst will monitor budget activity across all funds, develop reports and dashboards, and provide guidance to leadership on financial management and governance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
• 4+ years of budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, or related functions.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to communicate complex financial information to varied audiences.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex budget and financial analysis across all University funds and funding sources.
• Develop financial reports, dashboards, forecasts, projections, and decision-support tools for University leadership.
• Monitor budget activity, revenues, expenditures, allocations, and fund balances; identify trends, discrepancies, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
• Independently research and resolve budget and financial discrepancies and recommend corrective actions.
• Support annual budget development, resource allocation, financial planning, and forecasting activities.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on increasing efficiency and data integrity.
