Qualifications

Responsibilities

MDW Associates is seeking a Senior Budget Analyst to provide senior-level budget formulation, execution, financial analysis, and process-improvement support to a complex Department of War organization. The position will help leaders translate financial data into accurate spend plans, execution reports, reconciliations, and decision-quality recommendations.

This role supports a federal organization responsible for personnel security, mission assurance, and protection of sensitive work environments.

This position is remote eligible; periodic on-site support in Quantico, Virginia may be required based on mission needs.

The Senior Budget Analyst may perform a combination of some or all of the following duties:

• Analyze budget variances, financial projections, obligations, invoices, and execution data to support planning, forecasting, and reporting.
• Prepare and maintain spend-plan documentation, funding trackers, budget-adjustment logs, and routine execution metrics.
• Reconcile budget-management data with financial-system reports; research discrepancies and prepare documentation for government validation.
• Support reviews of unliquidated obligations, de-obligations, funding realignments, year-end closeout, and out-year requirements.
• Develop charts, tables, dashboards, briefings, SOPs, and process-improvement recommendations for leadership.
• Provide analytical and user-support assistance for budget-management and collaboration tools.

Required Experience/Skills:

• At least 3 years of quantitative analysis of financial or programmatic data.
• Experience with budget execution, financial reconciliation, spend planning, and executive-level reporting.
• Advanced Excel skills and the ability to communicate financial results clearly to non-financial audiences.
• This position requires U.S. citizenship in accordance with applicable government contract requirements.

Preferred Experience/Skills:

• Experience with Department of Defense financial-management processes or enterprise financial systems.
• Experience using data-visualization, workflow, or service-management tools.

Education Requirement(s):

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, or a related field; or 8+ years of relevant financial analysis, budgeting, or accounting experience.

Security Requirement(s):

• Candidates for this position must have an Active US Security Clearance (Secret).
