Job summary

The Department of General Services (DGS) Office of Budget in Richmond, Virginia, is seeking a Lead Budget Analyst to manage the full budget cycle for assigned funds and mentor Budget Analysts.

You will oversee monthly expenditure and revenue forecasting, lead Internal Service Fund submissions, and serve as a backup to the Chief Budget Officer. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in public sector budgeting, fiscal management, and advanced financial analysis.

Qualifications

• Leads staff on complex budgets or financial projects.
• Extensive budget management experience across general and non-general funds.
• Strong analytical skills for data trends, forecasting revenue/expenditures.
• Deep knowledge of fiscal standards, accounting, reporting, and budgeting procedures.
• Proficient with automated spreadsheets and financial software systems.
• Proven ability to establish and improve financial processes and internal controls.
