Job summary

AbelCine is seeking an experienced Senior Broadcast Network Engineer to support IP-based broadcast networking for live sports events in Inglewood, CA. The role focuses on SMPTE ST 2110 workflows and rapid on-site troubleshooting during rehearsals and live broadcasts.

The project is temporary, running roughly Sep 10, 2026 through Jan 10, 2027, with potential extension to playoffs. The ideal candidate brings enterprise networking expertise and hands-on live production experience.

Qualifications

Senior, hands-on network engineering experience in live broadcast environments.
Strong knowledge of IP-based broadcast workflows and SMPTE ST 2110.
Experience with enterprise-grade network gear and real-time troubleshooting in high-pressure settings.

Responsibilities

Provide expert-level network engineering and on-site support for live broadcasts and events.
Engineer large-scale Layer 2/3 networks with QoS, VRFs, and segmentation.
Troubleshoot SMPTE ST 2110, multicast, PTP timing, and related broadcast infrastructure.
Collaborate with Broadcast Engineering, IT, and production teams under time-sensitive pressure.
Escalate as needed and guide junior team members during rehearsals and events.
