Job summary

HNTB Corporation in Michigan seeks an engineering leader to design and deliver bridges and transportation structures. You will produce and review design calculations, write technical reports, and mentor a team of up to five engineers while coordinating with project managers to meet schedules and budgets.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering with 8+ years of relevant experience (PE preferred in Michigan) and strong multidisciplinary design tool knowledge.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 8+ years of relevant experience.
• Master’s degree with 7+ years, or PhD with 6 years of relevant experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in Michigan or PE licensed in another state with the ability to become licensed in Michigan within 6 months

Responsibilities

• Uses senior-level technical expertise to consider broad range of engineering solutions.
• Responsible for discipline-specific planning, work distribution, and leadership and adherence to schedule and budget on complex projects.
• Assists in marketing responsibilities, including proposal generation.
• Develops scope of work and level of effort and manages adherence to scope and budget on complex projects.
• Oversees completeness and accuracy of project team’s work within the technical discipline.
• Provides technical guidance and mentoring to team members to achieve overall project objectives.
• Coordinates technical aspects of the project with client counterpart and teaming partners at staff level for work within the discipline.
• Leads discipline delivery on larger, multi-disciplinary projects and works closely with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects.
• Assists with coordination and planning of schedules, hours, and distribution of work for other disciplines on multi-discipline projects on complex projects.
• Recruits, hires, develops and retains staff, including development of plan for staff reporting, performance and compensation reviews, and succession.
