Job summary

Stantec is seeking aSenior Structural / Bridge Engineer to join the Transportation team in Tampa, Florida. This role focuses on evaluating, selecting, and engineering systems for bridges and other structures, with a highly collaborative design environment.

You will lead design development, prepare construction documents, perform field inspections, and utilize MicroStation, AutoCAD, STAAD, Leap Bridge, and MathCAD to deliver safe, durable transportation projects in Florida.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering or related field.
• MS in Structural Engineering or related field preferred.
• FL Professional Engineer license or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• 10+ years of transportation roadway, structures, and bridge design/analysis experience.

Responsibilities

• Select and apply design criteria for minor bridge design and load rating assignments.
• Prepare engineering project documents, including design calculations.
• Prepare high-quality contract documents for construction of bridges, walls, culverts, signals or pedestrian structures.
• Perform field inspections and condition assessments.
• Identify technical problems early and initiate corrective actions.
• Use STAAD, Leap Bridge, MathCAD and spreadsheets for design/analysis.
• Prepare drawings with MicroStation and AutoCAD according to client standards.
