Job summary

VS Engineering in Lafayette, IN seeks a Senior Project Engineer for the Bridges & Structures team to lead key design efforts on regional infrastructure projects. You’ll own project deliverables and collaborate with experienced professionals to advance civil infrastructure.

You’ll apply your bridge engineering expertise, drive design excellence, and mentor junior engineers while growing your technical and leadership skills. INDOT projects and public sector partnerships are a focus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• PE license in Indiana or able to obtain within 12 months.
• 7+ years of bridge engineering experience.
• Strong technical, communication, and coordination skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of plans, specifications, quantities, and cost estimates.
• Provide technical expertise in structural design and constructability.
• Review, certify, and seal design documents as required.
• Collaborate with internal teams, clients, and subconsultants.
• Support project scope, schedule, and budget coordination with the Project Manager.
• Participate in client and stakeholder meetings.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote design best practices.

Requirements

What You Need to Succeed:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent
• PE license in Indiana (or ability to obtain within 12 months)
• 7+ years of bridge engineering experience
• Strong technical, communication, and coordination skills
