Job summary

GAI Consultants, Inc. is seeking an experienced Bridge Senior Project Engineer to join our Indiana Transportation Team. You will work on INDOT and local projects, lead multidisciplinary groups, and collaborate with teams across Kentucky, Ohio, and West Virginia. A PE license and 16+ years of experience are preferred.

You will mentor others, develop innovative design solutions, and manage project scope, budget, and schedules in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Qualifications

  • Senior Bridge Project Engineer with PE license preferred.
  • Leadership and team leadership experience required.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Experience integrating economics and risk analysis into engineering solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead large multidisciplinary bridge projects and oversee project teams.
  • Develop design alternatives for complex bridge projects considering constraints and stakeholders.
  • Integrate engineering economics and risk analysis into solutions.
  • Oversee project scope, budget, schedules, and client communications.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance and coordination with permitting processes.

GAI Consultants, Inc is seeking an experienced Bridge Sr. Project Engineer to work within our Indiana Transportation Team. The successful candidate will be a hard-working individual that enjoys a challenging, fast-paced, and team-oriented environment. The candidate will use their related experience to jump right into a variety of projects for INDOT, local municipalities and county clients across the state of Indiana. Additionally, there will be an opportunity to collaborate with other bridge design experts throughout several states including Kentucky, Ohio and West Virginia. Our Bridge Team is looking for a candidate that is willing to share their expertise through teaching others but is also eager to learn new skills and grow professionally in today's global environment.

General Characteristics

Minimum Years of Experience
  • 16+ Years of Experience
Education
  • B.S. or M.S. Engineering, Master's Degree or Equivalent Experience Preferred
Certification/Licensure
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) License, reciprocity in multiple states.
  • Driver’s License
Technical Responsibilities
  • Frequently develops standards and guidelines.
  • Leads a project in the practice in their area of specialization.
  • Frequently develops appropriate design alternatives for complex engineering projects that consider realistic requirements, constraints, community input, permitting, and other regulatory constraints.
  • Integrates advanced concepts to solve complex problems.
Project and Task Management
  • Oversees large or multidiscipline project teams.
  • Recommends personnel and funds required to carry out projects.
  • Oversees technical, legal, and financial issues of an entire project.
  • Integrates these components into a complete project management plan for a complex engineering project.
  • Determines project objectives and requirements.
Management Responsibility
  • Receives administrative supervision with assignments given in terms of broad general objectives and limits.
  • Implements staff development plans within their organizational segment, including technical, management, and leadership skills.
Communication Skills
  • Possesses exceptional oral and written communication skills, including negotiation of critical issues and effective persuasive communication.
  • Demonstrates financial acumen and familiarity with legal issues related to engineering practice.
  • Initiates and maintains extensive contacts with key engineers and officials, or other organizations and companies.
