Job summary

GAI Consultants, Inc. is seeking an experienced Bridge Sr. Project Engineer to join our Indiana Transportation Team.

The role involves leading multi-discipline bridge projects for INDOT, local municipalities, and county clients across Indiana and collaborating with colleagues across Kentucky, Ohio, and West Virginia. Candidates should have 16+ years of experience, a PE license, and a BS or MS in engineering. Driver's license required; strong leadership and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • 16+ years of engineering experience.
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license with multi-state reciprocity.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering.
  • Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

  • Develops standards and guidelines for engineering projects.
  • Leads a project in the practice in their area of specialization.
  • Develops design alternatives considering requirements, constraints, public input, permitting and regulatory constraints.
  • Integrates advanced concepts to solve complex problems.
  • Oversees large or multi-discipline project teams and determines objectives and requirements.
  • Manages administrative supervision and staff development within their segment.
  • Demonstrates strong written and oral communication and financial acumen.

GAI Consultants, Inc is seeking an experienced Bridge Sr. Project Engineer to work within our Indiana Transportation Team. The successful candidate will be a hard-working individual that enjoys a challenging, fast-paced, and team-oriented environment. The candidate will use their related experience to jump right into a variety of projects for INDOT, local municipalities and county clients across the state of Indiana. Additionally, there will be an opportunity to collaborate with other bridge design experts throughout several states including Kentucky, Ohio and West Virginia. Our Bridge Team is looking for a candidate that is willing to share their expertise through teaching others but is also eager to learn new skills and grow professionally in today's global environment.

Technical Responsibilities

Project and Task Management
  • Oversees large or multidiscipline project teams.
  • Recommends personnel and funds required to carry out projects.
  • Oversees technical, legal, and financial issues of an entire project.
  • Integrates these components into a complete project management plan for a complex engineering project.
  • Determines project objectives and requirements.
Management Responsibility
  • Receives administrative supervision with assignments given in terms of broad general objectives and limits.
  • Implements staff development plans within their organizational segment, including technical, management, and leadership skills.
Communication Skills
  • Possesses exceptional oral and written communication skills, including negotiation of critical issues and effective persuasive communication.
  • Demonstrates financial acumen and familiarity with legal issues related to engineering practice.
  • Initiates and maintains extensive contacts with key engineers and officials, or other organizations and companies.
