Job summary

Disney Cruise Line seeks a First Officer to serve as the Senior Watch Keeper and the Master's representative on the Bridge, leading the Quartermasters and guiding team members on safety and navigation duties. This shipboard role reports to the Staff Captain, with level: 2.5 stripes Officer and responsibilities across watch leadership, planning, and safety oversight.

Qualifications

• Fluent written and spoken English is required.
• Previous experience as Senior Watch Keeper on medium to large cruise vessels is preferred.
• Enthusiasm about guiding other team members and contributing to safety culture.

Responsibilities

• Be the Navigation Watch leader on a dual watch with a Junior Deck Officer.
• Purchase and maintain all publications and charts.
• Oversee cruise planning and itineraries, coordinating with the Master on navigational matters.
• Oversee mooring stations during arrivals and departures.
• Manage daily routines of navigational instruments and report deficiencies.
• Oversee emergency/pyrotechnic equipment on the Bridge and report to maintenance systems.
• Maintain the onboard ship-handling simulator and assist safety training.
