Senior Bridge Engineer / Project Manager
Join our team at Stantec to lead and design large-scale bridge and infrastructure projects, leveraging your expertise in project management and business development. Your role will bring value to the Regional Office, building strong client relationships with NJDOT, NJTA, and other transportation authorities.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage structural aspects of projects and multidisciplinary teams.
- Lead design tasks and oversee the Quality Control process.
- Drive business development by delivering quality work, providing excellent client service, and preparing proposals for NJDOT/NJTA, county agencies, NJ Transit, and PANYNJ.
- Mentor and motivate staff to achieve high performance.
- Collaborate across offices and disciplines in a fast‑paced design environment.
- Allocate structural resources to complete projects accurately, on budget, and on schedule.
- Participate in staff interviews and hiring decisions.
- Represent Stantec at professional organizations and conferences.
Capabilities and Credentials
- Proven project management and business‑development skillset.
- Track record delivering designs on large, complex bridge and infrastructure projects and coordinating multi‑disciplinary teams.
- In‑depth understanding of all project‑document phases, codes, legal, and design requirements for relevant authorities.
- Broad technical knowledge of transportation practice and structural engineering.
- Effective communicator, able to collaborate in team settings and present design concepts clearly.
- Registered Professional Engineer in the State of New Jersey.
- Comfortable leading bridge and infrastructure projects from inception through construction, engaging clients throughout.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (master’s degree desirable).
- Minimum 15 years’ experience in structural design and management of bridges and infrastructure projects, with at least 5 years of NJDOT/NJTA experience.

Pay Range
- Locations in CO, HI, MD & various CA, NJ areas – $133,300 – $200,000
- Locations in NYC, CA (Bay Area) & NJ (Rochelle Park) – $152,700 – $229,100
Primary Location and Travel
United States – New Jersey – Rochelle Park. Travel required; expects presence in office three days per week.
