Job summary

Pennoni is seeking a Senior Bridge Engineer for the Transportation Division at our Wyoming Valley (Plains), PA office. The ideal candidate will lead bridge rehabilitation and replacement design projects, coordinate with traffic, geotechnical, civil and environmental disciplines, and supervise engineers.

Required attributes include a PA PE license, 10+ years of bridge experience, and 4–7 years of management experience, with strong knowledge of PennDOT standards and related software.

Qualifications

• Licensed PE in PA required.
• 10+ years of bridge engineering experience.
• 4–7 years of management experience.
• Experience completing bridge designs, load ratings, calculations, construction plans, specs and schedules for project submissions (e.g., PennDOT Type, Size and Location Submissions, Final Plans, Specifications and Estimate).
• Proficiency with PennDOT manuals/standards and modeling software for various bridge types.

Responsibilities

• Lead bridge rehabilitation and replacement design projects from inception to completion.
• Supervise senior and junior engineers; interact with clients.

The ideal candidate will be a person who has experience performing the following, but not limited to:

• Managing and leading bridge rehabilitation and/or replacement design projects from inception to completion. Coordinating with other transportation engineering disciplines such as traffic, highway, geotechnical, civil and environmental.
• Supervising senior and junior level engineers. Interacting with internal and external clients.
• Completing bridge designs, load ratings, calculations, construction plans, specifications and schedules required for project submissions (e.g., PennDOT Type, Size and Location Submissions, Final Plans Submissions, and the Final Plans, Specifications and Estimate package).

Required Attributes:

• PE License for Pennsylvania Required.
• Years of experience: 10 or more.
• Management experience: 4-7
• Software Skills:PennDOT bridge design, analysis and rating software, STAAD, Microsoft, Microstation; Scheduling Software.
• Experience with all design phases of urban and rural bridge repair, rehabilitation, reconstruction and full replacement projects.
• A strong working knowledge of PennDOT software, design manuals and standards and/or other modeling software for single and multi-span steel, prestressed concrete, concrete and timber superstructures, and concrete substructures with shallow and deep foundations

Preferred Attributes:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for proposal pursuits, construction specification writing and client interaction, as well as knowledge of the PennDOT ECMS system.
• Knowledge of the PennDOT project management process.
• NBIS bridge inspection certification and bridge inspection experience a plus
