Are you a bridge engineer with a passion for designing and delivering complex infrastructure projects? A leading, employee-owned engineering firm is looking for a Senior Transportation Bridge Design Manager to lead bridge design and project delivery across the Southeast. This is a hands‑on leadership role managing DOT and municipal bridge projects, from concept through construction, while mentoring a team of talented engineers.

What You’ll Do

• Lead bridge design projects from concept through construction, including steel, concrete, and prestressed concrete structures
• Oversee multidisciplinary bridge design teams, ensuring compliance with AASHTO LRFD, DOT, and local standards
• Review and approve structural calculations, plans, and specifications
• Serve as the primary client liaison for bridge project delivery and technical performance
• Mentor and develop junior bridge engineers and project managers
• Support proposal development and technical leadership to grow the business
• Manage budgets, schedules, and delivery of multiple complex bridge projects

What You’ll Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in South Carolina
• 10–15 years of bridge engineering experience, including leadership of DOT or municipal bridge projects
• Deep experience in steel, concrete, and prestressed concrete bridge design, inspection, and load rating
• Strong knowledge of AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications, AASHTO Manual for Bridge Evaluation, and bridge evaluation processes
• Proficiency in design and analysis software: AASHTOWare (BrR/D), Midas Civil, STAAD, LEAP Concrete & Steel, Microstation, OpenBridge, AutoCAD, Civil 3D
• NBIS certification and experience with state DOT bridge standards are a plus
• Proven ability to manage technical teams, budgets, and schedules
